Mission
Our mission is to support the educational goals of Terra Dotta University by reducing and mitigating risk. Recognizing the need and responsibility to preserve and protect the University’s physical and financial resources, The Office of Risk Management strives to identify and reduce or eliminate the conditions which cause losses. Our goal is to make every effort to protect people, property, the community, and the environment through training, education, insurance products, and claims administration.The Office of Risk Management promotes an environment where each member of the university community is responsible for protecting and enhancing the resources of the university. All types of risk will be considered in order to promote this type of environment.
Objectives
Our goal is to utilize risk management techniques in order to identify and analyze University loss exposure and examine and implement feasible risk management alternative measures. Identifying and analyzing assets, resources, and loss exposures is a preliminary step in the risk management process in order to measure current risk and predict potential risk. The Office of Risk Management strives to develop financial protective measures to pay for losses through insurance mechanisms.Vision
Our vision is to create a culture of prevention throughout the University. The Office of Risk Management provides service, support, and safety to every member of the Terra Dotta University community and educates faculty, staff, and students so they can be a part of the Risk Management process by not only responding to events, but by seizing opportunities to evoke change. A coordinated, campus-wide approach to loss prevention strengthens Terra Dotta University’s ability to implement prudent risk assessments and to make informed decisions.The Office of Risk Management identifies risk and creates protocols for the protection of the University’s resources, environment, assets, and reputation.
